Druid's 2013 NFL MOCK DRAFT 4.0

Post Combine 4.0

  1. Kansas City – Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M – “I am the walrus, goo goo g’joob”. The Chiefs will pass on Geno and trade for Alex Smith. Arrogant and stupid are the first two words that come to mind.
  1. Buffalo - TRADE – Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia –The Bills jump up for Geno. The price will be less than the cost the Redskins paid to move up and select RG3. Smith has a strong arm offers the Bills intangibles. It’s a good year to be reminding people of Kaepernick!
  1. Oakland – Mike Glennon, QB, N.C. State – Holmgren’s first day will be spent releasing Carson Palmer. The rebuilding begins with Glennon. It’s a good year to remind people of Joe Flacco!
  1. Philadelphia – DeMarus Milliner, CB, Alabama – The Eagles will cut Nnamdi Asomugha. Milliner combine confirms a top 5 pick.
  1. Detroit – Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State – The Lions are a pass rush away from the playoffs. The “Autobahn” will get a Chrysler commercial.
  1. Cleveland – Star Lotuelei, NT, Utah – If his heart checks out, the Browns luck out!
  1. Arizona – E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida State – A pure athlete. Yes, a bit of a project, but better than trying to resuscitate a dead offense with Kolb, Hoyer, Lindley, or Skelton.
  1. Jacksonville - TRADE – Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan – If the Jag’s weren’t going to select Smith, then credit their management team for making chicken salad out of a lack of elite at the top of the draft.
  1. N.Y. Jets – Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon – Jets begin rebuilding by manufacturing a pass rush. Speed off the edge has been missing from Rex’s defense.
  1. Tennessee- Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma – He’s a super freak – super freak. Johnson will start from day 1.
  1. San Diego – Ezekiel Ansah, DE, OLB, BYU – The Chargers have too many holes to worry about the dyke! Selecting Ansah doesn’t require an excessive amount of thought.
  1. Miami – Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida – Floyd is the top 3 tech in this draft. The Finns won’t hesitate to draft this anchor.
  1. Tampa Bay – Barkervious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU – Mingo offers greater value than a CB with the 13th pick. The CB class is deep enough to wait another round.
  1. Carolina –Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee – Dave Gettleman knows Steve Smith needs more than a pit stop. Patterson is a bigger version with the same competitive attitude.
  1. New Orleans – Damontre Moore, DE/OLB, Texas A&M – Spags is gone. The Saints are moving to the 3-4 and hoping Rob Ryan’s system can cover-up some of the short-term defensive deficiencies. Moore’s poor combine is the Saints good fortune.
  1.  St. Louis – Chance Warmack, G, Alabama – Sam Bradford’s development comes before all priorities. Warmack is rated as a one in a decade Guard. The Rams can add a WR with the 22nd pick.
  1. Pittsburgh – Jarvis Jones, DE/OLB, Georgia – Health concerns have raised enough red flags to drop Jones off some boards. The Steelers get a top 5 talent.
  1. Dallas– Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri – The “Boys” must rebuild there front. Richardson will fit into Monte’s scheme.
  1. N.Y. Giants – Xavier Rhodes – In 2011 the Giants used the 19th pick overall to select the 2nd rated CB on the board, Prince Amukamara. History repeats! In 2013 the Giants will use the 19th pick overall to acquire the 2nd rated CB, Xavier Rhodes.
  1. Chicago – Jonathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State – Trestman will add some offensive bells and whistles in the later rounds. Hankins will cornerstone the Bear front.
  1. Cincinnati – Kenny Vaccaro, Safety, Texas – The Bengals need help in the secondary. Vaccaro is the top rated safety in the draft.
  1. St. Louis (from Washington) – Keenan Allen, WR, California – Gibson, Amendola, and Smith are UFAs. Perhaps, all won’t be back! Quick is developing slowly.
  1. Minnesota – Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia– The Viking offense is over-dependent on the League MVP. Perhaps, the plan is to wear down the eraser, then throw away the pencil? Ponder must develop and what’s the matter with Percy appears to be escalating.
  1. Indianapolis – Alex Oakafor, DE, Texas – Mathis needs to be cycled out soon and Freeney is moving on.
  1. Seattle – Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia – Pete will have confidence in his ability to manage the off the field concerns.
  1. Green Bay – Jonathan Cooper, G, North Carolina – Jeff Saturday has announced his retirement. Cooper offers OL options. He can convert to center if need be. Packers stay solid at 26.
  1. Houston – Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia – Shaun Cody is a UFA. Jenkins is fair value for the 27th pick. I just don’t see the Texans excited about anyone on the board at 27. I would not be surprised to see the Texans trade up or down!
  1. Denver – Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington – Champ Bailey has lost a step or two. The Broncos, rightly, believe they let the Super Bowl slip away.
  1. New England – Johnathan Banks, CB, Mississippi State – Pats have questions at CB. Banks can flourish in press coverage, and mitigate his lack of foot speed.
  1. Atlanta –D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama – Tony Gonzalez cannot be replaced, but a TE can be found in a later round. Fluker has great measurables.
  1. N.Y. Jets – TRADE - Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee – Jets move Revis to the 49’ers and begin by adding another young receiver.
  1. Baltimore – Kawann Short, DT, Purdue – Added to Ray Lewis retiring, 3 other defensive starters and 5 defensive backups are UFAs. Ed Reed is no longer a force and is nearing the end of a great career. The Ravens need a complete rebuild on defense. If they can, they will trade down to add picks, like they did last year.
